DWI Defense

Why can't I just defend myself?

An experienced attorney is trained to protect your constitutional rights, which might be waived if you represent yourself.

What do I do if I am pulled over for a DWI?

Be polite & politely refuse to answer any questions or take any tests.  The only information you are required to give to the police officer is your identification and proof of financial responsibility (insurance card).

Why is a DWI defense so expensive?

Fighting a DWI can be expensive, but just pleading guilty and being convicted of a DWI is very expensive - it stays with you forever.  It can affect you future employment, insurance rates, the cost to keep your driver's license, and your reputation.

Shouldn't I just plead guilty & take probation?

Absolutely not.  Your case should be evaluated for trial - it is better to not be convicted of a DWI.  If you plea guilty, you will automatically be convicted.
